This competition to be run on a League basis. The winners of the league section will receive the Kavanagh Cup and enter the final of the Championship. The 2nd and 3rd placed teams in the league section to play off in the semi-final. The winners will receive the Dessie Murphy Trophy and enter the final of the Championship. The remaining Senior Hurling teams play off for the Billy Byrne Cup in a knockout competition.
